Welcome to Wears Valley, Tennessee. If you haven't been to Wears Valley recently, you haven't been to Wears Valley. Wears Valley is no longer an area driven through on the way to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Townsend, Cades Cove, or the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Wears Valley is now "the destination" for many visitors coming to the Great Smoky Mountains.

Wears Valley lies in the majestic hills of the beautiful Smoky Mountains bordering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and just seven miles from Pigeon Forge. Wears Valley is known as one of the most beautiful and picturesque valleys you will find anywhere in the United States. Wears Valley offers the serenity and seclusion of the mountains but the convenience of being close to all the action of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Close by are hiking trails, mountain streams and waterfalls, wildlife viewing, whitewater rafting, tubing, and other outdoor adventures provided by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Metcalf Bottoms, Elkmont and the Cades Cove areas of the Smokies are just minutes away from Wears Valley.

One of our nation's most visited natural areas, historic Cades Cove is considered an "open air museum" of pioneer life in the nineteenth century. Since the land was purchased for the national park Cades Cove has preserved history as one of nature's most tranquil, serene and breathtaking attractions.

There are a variety of businesses located in Wears Valley, including cabin rentals, real estate, builders, business & residential services, a farmers' market, wagon & pony rides, and many more. These are mostly small family-owned businesses. Over the years the owners of some of these businesses have formed several organizations at different times, including the Wears Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Wears Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Wears Valley Business Association to attempt to have a coordinated business presence in the valley. Such organizations have come and gone over the years. This web site for the Wears Valley Chamber of Commerce is maintained as an adjunct to the Townsend Chamber of Commerce. Townsend and Wears Valley have many similarities - they are separated by a ridge but connected by Tennessee Highway 321 which runs through both.
